PARA101 ADVANCED EMT I FALL 8(8-0)
This course is designed to prepare the student for licensure as an Advanced EMT (Paramedic) in the State of Michigan. This course will include pathophysiology, patient assessment techniques and concepts, advanced airway management, fluid and shock resuscitation, and acid/base balance. This course is also designed to provide the Paramedic student with the knowledge of basic pharmacological principles, biological factors the influence predictable effects of drugs on physiologic problems, modifiers of predictable effects, commonalities and variations between the actions of drugs that can and do commonly occur, and application for pharmacological therapy in the pre-hospital setting. Class will incorporate medical terminology as well.
Prerequisites: E, M, R, Acceptance into program
